The area of the Dead Sea, known as the Judean Desert, is a unique. It hardly rains here, even in the winter.
Its tough climate made it a perfect place of escape for kings and heretics. King David
ran away from Saul to Ein-Gedi, Herod the Great build his palace in Masada and the Qumran sect left the way of sins in Jerusalem and wrote here the famous Dead Sea Scrolls.
The oases are the sources of life the desert and attract the local wildlife. And don't forget the Dead Sea - the lowest place on Earth!

- Stopping at the "Sea Level Point" before going to -400m altitude.
- Masada[*] - Visit the UNESCO world heritage site. It is glorious Herod's cliff palace in the Judean desert overlooks the Dead Sea. It is also the site of the Jewish last stand against the Romans, 2000 years ago. Be a guest at the ancient palaces, bathhouses, discover the antique synagogue, estimate the fortifications, as you follow the shocking story of the last battle on Masada.
Lunch: Ein-Gedi area

- Ein-Gedi (Nahal David short hike) [*] – Waterfalls, swimming holes and Crystal clear waters of Ein-Gedi Oasis are the best place for wildlife spotting in the whole Judean Desert. Hyrax and Ibex are common guests here.
- Soaking at the Dead Sea – the lowest place in the world. Its water has unbelievable medical characteristics.
- Optional: visiting the site of Qumran [*] - the place where the Dead Sea scrolls where found. This was probably the home of the Essene community, who left Jerusalem in order to live a righteous life in the desert and prepare themselves for the War of the Sons of Light Against the Sons of Darkness.
